In the 1960s Travemünde changed into its current form. In 1962 the construction of the Scandinavia Quay began. Its eight piers, three of them with railroad tracks, make it Europe's largest ferry terminal. You can depart from "Skandinavia Quay" to Sweden, Finland, Russia and the Baltic states.
The terminal Skandinavia Quay offers its harbour clients a 24-hour-service on 365 days of the year, with skilled staff and state of the art technical equipment. This makes the terminal a turntable for all kinds of cargo, transported by truck, trailer or container. Three of the eight berths are specially designed for railway traffic. besides the dispatch of new and used vehicles of all kinds, about 1 million passengers make the Skandinavia Quay the starting point or destination of their trip across the Baltic Sea.

The terminal is also the contact point for a number of impressive cruise ships from all over the world. More and more large shipping companies are discovering the Baltic Sea as a lucrative region for their guests, offering Travemünde as an international cruise destination with charm.
