Theatre Lübeck
The Lübeck Theatre at Beckergrube has a history reaching back to 1752.
The entire building was renovated between 1994 and 1996 at a cost of around 70 million marks. Thanks to the renovations, the art-nouveau decorations, obscured in the twenties during the New Objectivity movement, were restored to their former glory again. The theatre has three stages: the Kammerspiele (Chamber Theatre with 327 seats, the Große Haus (Large House) with 792 seats and the Studiobühne (Studio Stage) with up to 99 seats. It has an ensemble of 30 singers and actors.

Wagner meets Mann
Lübeck's cultural project "Wagner meets Mann" is well-known far beyond Lübeck's boundaries. In 2010 the highlights of the third round of "Wagner meets Mann" will be the production of "Siegfried" and the world premiere of "Confessions of Felix Krull. Confidence man".
In Autumn 2010 the project's two highlights will be the premiere of "Twilight of the Gods" as well as the world premiere of "Doctor Faustus".
The entire cirle of the "Ring of the NIbelungs" will be staged in September 2010, February 2011 and in May 2011.
In February and May 2011 Lübeck's Theatre will show the four Thomas-Mann dramatisations including "The Buddenbrooks" and "The Magic Mounain".
Please note that these productions are in German. The leaflet "Wagner meets Mann" as well as additional information is available at the Theatre Lübeck. Call: +49 451 708 81 50 or mail to
