St. Lorenz church has survived more than 450 years. This old bulky building has been built on the foundation of the former church which burned down in the 16th century. You can still see old parts of it in the northern and eastern side of the building. Furthermore, the nave is decorated with a baroque altar, which was carved in 1723 by the famous master craftsman of Lübeck Hieronymus Jakob Hassenberg, as well as a beautifully painted coffered ceiling. Old tombstones are embedded in the floor – the oldest one stems from the year 1404.
